The Baelz absorption chiller is an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to provide cooling. The system is operated using excess heat from CHP plants, local and district heating networks, industrial plants, solar power systems or waste and biomass incineration plants and therefore contributes significantly to the use of renewable energy.

Refrigerant and solvent requirements of our system are only about one third compared to those of systems from other manufacturers. This is not only environmentally friendly but also a cost-saving factor. The system is suitable for a wide range of applications, e.g., for cooling of industrial plants, rooms, machines or food.

Cost-effectiveness

The use of absorption chillers permits cost savings of up to 50% per kWh (cooling) compared to vapour-compression chillers. It also contributes to a considerable reduction of CO2 emissions.

Example of use: In the city of Aachen, two »Bumblebee« systems have been installed for the air-conditioning of a supermarket leading to a reduction of CO2 emissions by about 33%.
